Miscarriage Rate
Miscarriage rate is higher in early trimester, being older, previous miscarriage history, and poor health patients; a Pap smear can rule out ASCUS.
The chance of a recurrent fetal loss increases in women who have had three consecutive abortions. If the previous premature loss occurred due to abnormal chromosomes, the pregnancy is likely to be miscarried again. Alcohol and drug abuse contribute to the risk of having a fetal loss.
