Why miscarriages happen is not easily determined, but the presence of PIDs and STDs such as the vaginal wart virus are linked to infertility. In most cases, a spontaneous abortion is thought to be the nature’s way of de-selecting the embryos that are not going to develop healthily. It usually happens before 12 weeks of pregnancy. Approximately one in six confirmed pregnancies miscarries.
