The chances of miscarriage increase with the presence of PIDs and STDs that can cause vaginal discharge and cervical abnormalities. Most early pregnancy losses are due to genetics and cannot be prevented. But losing a pregnancy does not mean that anything is wrong with a woman’s health or that she cannot have more children.
